Would they have become heroes w/o the adversity that Allah placed before them? Perhaps, circumstance creates heroes. A lil more complicated than the chicken and the egg, eh!
Yeah..even beyond though, you could have the most brilliant man in the world not become a hero b/c his circumstances (history) were simply not amenable to his further ascension. I think part of being a hero is taking advantage of opportunities and circumstances and becoming a hero. A mix of BOTH agency and structure.
i agree, history creates heroes. sorry i don't have any legit sources except for mel gibson in braveheart LOL ... if those english bastards just left those folks alone wallace wouldn't of got all pissed off and lead a rebellion. he would have been a farmer.
Muj, I noticed your msn name and decided to check it out, this is my first time on a blog website. Cool idea, don't really have the time do make one myself, and that makes me wonder how you have to time when you should be studying, but anyways just thought I would say that since I don't see you that much anymore it is nice to be able to still be able to listen to your highly intellectual opinions. On a side note I was reading this blog section and I read the post by anonymous, and right away I new it was my husband because of the Braveheart referral (his fav movie) when in doubt, he refers to braveheart, LOL. I wonder Muj, could you tell it was him?

history creates heroes. people are creatures of comfort, usually. so anything out of the ordinary is a response to something in the environment.
